Use this virtual interactive sketchbook to teach art and document students growth during distance learning! This editable Google Slides interactive sketchbook will work for 3rd - 12th grade (can be adapted for K - 2). You may need to adjust the language for your specific group of students, but age appropriate video links have been already been linked on certain slides for you to pick from. All edits are outlined in light green text boxes and should take no more than 5 or 10 minutes of prep time! I suggest using one or two interactive sketchbook activities per class session for synchronous instruction activities, as asynchronous instruction tasks, or single pages as homework assignments for middle and high school students. Personally, I will be using the decoration activity and “Photo Collage: My Inspiration” as one of our first virtual learning art lessons of the year. Whenever I am absent from school (My county is not providing substitutes unless we are out more than 3 days in a row, and all work will need to be completed asynchronously by students), I will assign 2 - 3 pages for students to complete asynchronously and have students “short answer” their Google Classroom assignment with the slide number of what pages they completed -- I will be giving students voice and choice with what activities they want to complete. Assigning specific pages is also great option to use with substitutes.

This interactive sketchbook can be used with Google Slides and Pear Deck. I am not familiar with other platforms, but I'm sure this can be easily adapted.
