This performance task allows students to practice their skills of adding and subtracting decimals in a real-world application. Given a budget of $200 and a few other parameters, students must design a menu for a family of 4 for breakfasts, lunches and dinners (Monday-Friday). Students must then answer a variety of questions requiring them to add, subtract, compare and order decimals. Finally, students must choose a set of data to represent in a bar graph as a final activity. Included in this resource is:
-A food/price list
-9 questions
-3 (optional) organizing sheets (breakfast, lunch, dinner) - the teacher may choose not to give these to students
