Description

In this lesson, students will review how to add/subtract on the grid and then learn to add the "ones" and the "tens" to solve 2 digit addition and subtraction problems (no regrouping). Infinite cloned base ten blocks are provided so you can provide a visual when teaching the skill.

The lesson includes a teacher's notes page, interactive pages, a website link and links to printable worksheets on both addition, subtraction and mixed problems. A customizable page is provided for both addition and subtraction so you can add MORE practice problems if needed.

The focus of this lesson is to learn another strategy for adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers (NO regrouping) beyond using the number grid.

My students loved coming up to the board to solve the problems. It was a nice tool for them to interact and learn with each other instead of a printable.
