⭐ This 2nd grade math escape room is an engaging way to practice adding and subtracting skills. Your students will practice adding and subtracting within 1000, adding four 2-digit numbers, and solving adding and subtracting word problems as they unlock secret codes to help the robot find its missing parts. Custom videos tell the story and frame each challenge, making this printable and digital resource activity an engaging and immersive experience.

"You found the robot factory! To get this place up and running again, you'll have to lend me a hand. Help me to find my missing parts, and I'll be fully operational again."

This activity aligns with CCSS 2.NBT.B.6, 2.NBT.B.7, and 2.OA.A.1, but can be used in any classroom to develop the following skills:

  • Google Format - Students complete the exercises in Google Slides using the Robot Decoder Tool (Google Sheets) that self-corrects and tells each student when they can continue to the next challenge.

  • Printable Format - Students can use any device to scan QR codes to watch the videos. If no device is available, students can skip the videos and still enjoy the exercise. Students use a printable Robot Decoder Tool and answer sheet to decipher the clues and track their answers.
