This set of 20 fraction word problem task cards helps address the following CCSS standard:


5.NF.A.2 - Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem.


The word problems on the cards address the following targets:
- Solve one-step word problems involving addition of fractions with unlike denominators
- Solve one-step word problems involving subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators
- Solve two-step word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions with unlike denominators
- Solve word problems involving mixed numbers including the need to regroup
- Put answers in lowest terms
- Create a word problem to fit a given expression

The following items are included in this set:
- 16 cards with word problems
- 4 cards with an expression for which students must create their own word problem to match and then solve.
- An answer document for students to record answers

- Additional set of identical problems in blackline
