Description

Looking for a resource to help you reach all your students when adding decimals? This set of 30 adding decimals task cards help make differentiating in your classroom easy! These low prep task cards can be used in so many different ways to help your students practice adding decimals.

There are 30 task cards in this resource with 10 below level questions, 10 on level questions, and 10 above level questions. Assign as independent work with the student answer sheet, use as question cards with a game, or use in your small groups. You could assign all the cards to your students and with a quick scan determine where they are struggling based on the question numbers they are getting wrong, assign only task cards based on their level, or work your way from easy to difficult with your students.

Included in this resource:

-10 Below Level Task Cards (1-10 are addition without regrouping with the same and different number of decimal places)

-10 On-Level Task Cards (11-20 are addition with regrouping with the same and different number of decimal places)

-10 Above Level Task Cards (21-30 are addition with challenge- regroup multiple times and larger numbers)

I use task cards in my small groups to quickly give students problems to solve that are within their ability level. For example, with my below level groups I would use questions 1-10, and as they got more confident I would add in on level questions from 11-20. I might have students work individually or in pairs to answer questions and when they get it right, give them another card. Sometimes I use task cards with games, so if they answer a question correctly they get to take a turn, and my students love it!

You could also use these as indpendent or partner work outside of your teacher directed small groups. When you check their answer sheet, you can determine where they may need extra practice. For example, if a students gets questions 1-10 correct, but gets several questions wrong between 11-30, then you know they probably need help with regrouping. There are so many ways you can use this resource to help meet your students' needs!
