Description

In need of more adding doubles equations for your students to practice solving? This PowerPoint Activity is for you!

Included in this product are 28 slides showing an adding doubles equation with numbers or pictures.

Each slide is animated so that you or your students don't have to do any clicking! Once the expression is shown, students will have 8 - 10 seconds to find the sum before the answer is revealed.

Use this in a variety of ways:

  • Play in the morning during bell-work
  • Play during lunch for students eating in the classroom
  • Transitioning from one subject to another
  • If your schedule is weird and you have an odd 5 - 10 minutes of time that needs filling between a subject or specials/elective class, lunch, or dismissal.
  • Play as a review game for knowing from memory the addition facts up to 20 (grade 2)
  • Individual math center for social distancing in the classroom
  • Students can practice at home in place of using flashcards.
  • So much more!

Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
