How I Use This Application in my Classroom

- Instead of a worksheet, I challenged my students to solve the most problems correctly on my Google Site page. A simple screenshot served as evidence. The winner of the contest was announced on the class website. I was amazed when students turned in screenshots showing 100 problems solved...200 problems solved...and the winner of the class solving 450 problems! This was definitely more effective than 20 problems on a worksheet!

- Create a bracket with your student's names. Pair up the students and set a one-minute timer. The students then solve as many problems as they can using the Integer Operations Applications. Whichever student solves more correct problems in the minute moves on to the next round. The winner is the last student standing. Be aware...this will be fun and can get loud :)

- When the students finish their assignments early, they can go to your Google Site page and practice their one-step equations.

Grade Level

I would recommend this resource for middle school students, grades 6-8.
