Looking for an interactive way to teach adding integers? Want the visuals of manipulatives without the mess on manipulatives? Here is your answer!
How this lesson is set up:
- A few examples with visuals
- Instructions to take notes
- Try 5 problems independently and check their answers with slideshow
- When prompted to tell how they are doing, students click on the number they got correct to take them to the appropriate slide - review or move on.
- 3 levels of practice for each type of addition (same & different signs) and answers are provided. Two worksheets go with this along . Download Adding integers (different signs) and Adding integers (same signs) for free from my store as the lesson instructs students when to work on which worksheet.
Ways to use this lesson:
- Whole group instruction
- Small group instruction
- Independent or partner work.
- As there is no sound, this can be a great resource for students with auditory processing disorders.
- No explanation is needed for this powerpoint.
- Use as catch up students who were absent and could be a resource for parents.
