⭐️ Students will represent addition of positive and negative integers using COUNTERS. This type of model is particularly effective for teaching the meaning of zero pairs. ⭐️

❤️ The worksheet is scaffolded as follows: ❤️

  • Page #1: Students must select the value of the depicted counters from the four choices given.
  • Page #2: Students must write the equation and solution represented by the counters depicted.
  • Page #3: Students are given equations and may draw their own counters (or use another strategy) to fill in the solution blank.
