This lesson explores how, when and why to add mixed numbers with the same and different denominators - perfect for developing an understanding of fractions through clear explanations, thought-provoking challenges and real-life scenarios.
Students will explore mixed numbers in relation to Sustainable Development Goal 13 (SDG13): Climate Action. They will add mixed numbers by separating the whole number from fractions, finding the common denominator as needed, and explain the reasoning behind doing so.
