In this activity, students will explore using equivalent fractions to solve addition and subtraction problems with mixed numbers. By using fraction tiles to create equivalent fractions, students will start to see the connection between the equivalent fractions. By completing this hands-on activity, students can visually see how using equivalent fractions help them solve adding & subtracting equations with mixed numbers.
