Description

Adding on a hundreds chart is a great way to teach two-digit addition within 100. Are you looking for extra practice and support? These pages are carefully scaffold moving from the most support with hints on the page to the least support with no hint for each concept (location of largest addend, no regrouping, and regrouping).

This packet includes:
• a parent and teacher direction sheet
• practice sheets with and without hints
• mixed practice sheets that can be used as assessments

If you would like to see more strategies for addition besides the traditional method, I also have an adding on an open number line pack. The hundreds chart naturally leads into the open number line and is a great strategy for scaffolding learning.

Great Visual Support for Addition

This resource was perfect for helping my students understand how to add two-digit numbers using a hundreds chart. The visual model really helped them see how to jump tens and ones, and it boosted their confidence with mental math too! It was great for small groups, independent practice, and even early finishers. Simple to prep and super effective—definitely a go-to during our addition unit!
