This fun sheet includes adding/subtracting like and unlike fractions and mixed numbers, and students get to color too! This can be used prior to a unit test, for wrap-up of the skill, or for review before standardized testing. It has a Valentine theme, as most of the shapes are made of hearts. My students were excited and motivated to work on this sheet!

Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, π’/π£ + π€/π₯ = (π’π₯ + π£π€)/π£π₯.)
