Here's how math riddle task cards work!

Choosing from nine numbers, your students will use critical thinking to solve clues, determining Dino’s Secret Number by eliminating eight of the options. With each task card they solve, your students will complete eight examples - that's 192 opportunities to add and subtract tens!

* Add and subtract multiples of ten within 100

* Compare numbers within 100 using greater than and less than symbols.

Here are some ways that you might use these task cards in your classroom!

* Use these riddle task cards in a math center for individual or partner work after you've taught your class to add and subtract tens.

* Use as first grade math enrichment work for your advanced students. Great for practicing mental math skills!

* Use in a small group for extra practice or at a higher grade level for remediation. Try these for RTI for your second graders and third graders!

* Use with your document camera for whole class review of place value or to focus attention at the beginning of a math lesson.

* Use as a skills review rotation, individually or with partners, with students moving to stations around the classroom to solve the clues.

* Use for morning “bell ringers”.

* Use as engaging work for early finishers.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love to Learn with Lauren said, "My higher level students loved this enrichment activity and always wanted to complete more!"

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Karin said, "This resource is brilliant, there are no ‘short cuts’ to getting to the mystery number so my son actually has to work through each step in getting to the answer so really helps him slow down and think about what he is doing. Thank you so much for creating and sharing these task cards, they are fabulous."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Kimberly said, "These are great critical thinking, independent tasks!"
