Description

In this activity students have to add numbers up to 15. They have to practice solving simple addition equations by placing the correct apples on the right tree. The apples have the addition sentence and the trees have the sum of those addition sentences. This activity can be self checking by writing the sum on the back of each addition problem. Print on card stock, laminate for durability and use at a math center or small group teacher led instruction. Great for Kindergarten students or first graders! This activity also comes with a cut and paste worksheet very similar to the activity which can be used for additional practice or assessment! It is a great addition activity for an apple or fall themed unit!

Another fun product for reinforcing addition. My students love this. I actually used velcro dots for them to match up. They can carry it to me to check without any pieces falling off.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Solve addition and subtraction word problems, and add and subtract within 10, e.g., by using objects or drawings to represent the problem.
Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
