Description

Addition means "PUTTING TOGETHER". This presentation provides interactive drop and drag lessons explaining and teaching multiple strategies for young learners as they explore numbers 1-10.

Strategies covered in the digital lessons:

  • Counting on your fingers
  • Using counting cubes to count up
  • Ten Frames
  • Number lines

Key terms are also identified when learning about addition exploring the terms "addition" "sum", "number sentence" and "sign".

All four lessons include an interactive drop and drag slide for students to try the new concept together to reinforce learning.

Strategies included in the worksheets:

  • Counting on your fingers
  • Using counting cubes to count up
  • Ten Frames
  • Number lines

Included are two worksheets for students to show learning by demonstrating knowledge & understanding by completing addition number sentences, and to demonstrate thinking & application of strategies learned when solving addition number sentences and drawing which strategy they chose.

Two exit ticket rubric assessments are included and can be attached to any of the worksheets in this mini unit. This is a great way to communicate learning to parents/guardians and to track assessment and growth.

  • There are a total of 6 worksheets in this mini unit and 2 exit tickets.

  • Canadian and American spelling versions included.
