These delectable activities help to provide a bridge between the concrete and the abstract when teaching your students how to apply counting up from a given number as a mental addition fact strategy. There are three sets of count up cards, 4 per page, in color and black/ gray/ white formats, for use as task cards or as a roam the room activity. Each card has a bag of candy with a number and either 1, 2, or 3 pieces of candy. Two vertical number lines to 20 are also included, to be used for support as needed. You may certainly use these resources to teach this as counting on with a horizontal number line, instead. The three sets of count up cards may be interchanged to create a set that includes counting up from 1, 2, and 3. There are 9 different recording sheets included. Additionally, there are 3 game sheets with separate spinners, one each for count up 1, 2, or 3, to play a spin and color partner or small group game.
