My students could work on this independently in a center while I was helping others. It was perfect!
My students loved the resource. They loved creating their own word problem and then displaying it for others to see.
This was the perfect math activity for a special theme day we had at school. It reinforced their math skills and helped them learn about animal habitats as well.

Wow. Thanks! It can be (admittedly) semi-messy to teach, but once they see the concept in action, even my struggling students seemed to (finally) understand those pesky word problems.
I LOVE that the kids can create their own "story problems" -great for stations, small group, RTI - this could even be printed on cardstock, and glue felt (or Velcro!) to the back for some great large group learning.
Love that idea for large group sessions .... especially as a way to model word problems. (Oh, and I love your feedback reviews.) :-)
