Description

•This model challenges students to analyze, look for patterns, and connect what they learn to real examples.

•Students are actively involved in thinking, considering, and constructing their own ideas about required content standards.

•Students achieve deep understanding of content standards as well as transferrable skills that will help them be successful on proficiency tests and throughout their lives.

Based on the Inductive model, uses inductive reasoning to challenge students to draw general conclusions about a concept through examination. It draws on natural patterns of thinking by providing students with an opportunity to practice, refine, and understand the usefulness of inductive reasoning. Lessons planned with the Inductive model challenge students to make use of their senses to observe and recognize details along with patterns in materials related to the concepts.

Forces students to begin adding the ones place first. Allows them to conceptualize carrying. Reenforces place value understandings.
