Description
This activity will challenge your students to solve multi-step addition and subtraction sequences using mental math strategies. It can be completed fully online through Google Forms and it is self-grading! Perfect for distance learning or independent work during centers.
Each task starts with a single- or double-digit number on the blue starting square. Students then follow the path, using mental math at each prompt to add, subtract, and double numbers to find the final answer. Every other box on the path has a picture of a boy thinking to encourage students to pause and think it through before moving on to the next step.
Several tasks near the end of the set also include a prompt to “half it” for a little extra challenge.
This is a self-grading activity. After students submit their responses, you will be able to view them and see how many they got correct. Includes 24 tasks.
