Description

Math Winter Snowball Fight! provides students an opportunity to learn/practice addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts. This activity includes addition, subtraction and multiplication problems that have answers of 1 through 30. There are answer/target posters that have answers of 1 through 30 printed on them (Target Pictures include a blue snowflake, a black snowflake and a snowman – numbers are printed in the color red.) The math problems range from easy to more difficult, so students at various grades, math skills/abilities are able to benefit from the activity. You can print the target posters and cards that you want to focus on if you don’t want to print all of them. I suggest printing and laminating the posters and math problem cards before cutting them out.
Directions:
*Students can be divided into 2 teams, one person from each team can compete at the same time.
Students will:

1.Read a math problem from a card.

2.Figure out the answer to the problem (either by memory or they can work it out on paper).

3.Throw a snowball (waded up piece of white paper) at the correct target poster. The person who hits the target first gets to announce their answer. They would receive a point if they give/hit the correct target.*The 2 students could work from the same math problem card or do individual ones…teacher’s choice.
Materials:
• Answer/Target Posters (1 -30)
• Math problem cards
• Snowballs (waded up pieces of white printer or construction paper.)
