Description

This is a 2 week lesson plan for Addition & Subtraction2. It is suitable for Stage 3 students (Years 5&6). It has a total of 8 lessons for you to follow.

Little to no prep for each day!

It is based on the following outcomes from the NSW Australian Curriculum:

  • describes and represents mathematical situations in a variety of ways using mathematical terminology and some conventions (MA3-1WM)
  • selects and applies appropriate problem-solving strategies, including the use of digital technologies, in undertaking investigations (MA3-2WM)
  • gives a valid reason for supporting one possible solution over another (MA3-3WM)
  • selects and applies appropriate strategies for addition and subtraction with counting numbers of any size (MA3-5NA)

The lesson plan is structured on a 4 day week. Each lesson is planned for 1.5 hours. The last day of the week was used as a Mathematic Investigation based on the skills being learnt for that week.
