The Addition & Subtraction with Teen Numbers 5 in a Row game is the perfect complement!

This no-prep blackline game is ready for playing! Just print, cut, and play, or laminate for future use. The corresponding Powerpoint files plays the game all on its own. Click the button to randomize the slides and push start. It can be randomized for every play, keeping the game fresh and fun for students.

With only 15 numbers on the game card, students can quickly find and identify the numbers. 30 different game cards are included with each game, so there's a different card for even large class sizes. The game practicing facts 0-10 has the option for students to have a game card with all 3 rows, so 30 full pages are included. Complete setup directions are included.

Note: The game is self timed at 9 seconds per slide, as that's what worked best in my classroom, but you can change the length of the timing in the same way you'd change any slide timing in Powerpoint. This is great for increasing fact fluency as you decrease the time by one second.

Telling Time to the Half Hour game

Please note: This may not work with Powerpoint compatible programs. I recommend using Powerpoint itself. It will not work on Powerpoint 2008 for Macs.

This is a fun game, but depending on your students, some may become stressed out or anxious at the relatively quick pace.

Hi, you can change the timings of the slides if it's too quick for your students! It's set for one pace, but I change mine throughout the year as students build comfort and fluency. <3

I purchased the Addition and Subtraction Games: Fact Fluency 5-in-a-Row set last year for my first-grade classroom, and it quickly became a student favorite during small group time! The 5-in-a-row game is cleverly designed to reinforce fact fluency in both addition and subtraction. My students were so engaged, they didn’t even realize they were practicing math facts—they just knew they wanted to win!

Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Fluently add and subtract within 20 using mental strategies. By end of Grade 2, know from memory all sums of two one-digit numbers.
