Description
This is a simple problem solving template you can use to teach students to break down addition or subtraction problems into steps and work them out. Use this with the concrete, representational, abstract instructional method by having students work out problems with manipulatives first, then progress to drawing and finally to writing the number sentence. It is in WORD format so you can edit as needed. I often take problems from our Envision Math adoption and put them in this format to assist students to learn to use problem-solving strategies.
