Description

My kiddos definitely needed more practice with regrouping and estimation and we were all tired of doing Eureka Math worksheets, so I created these to review and have fun at the same time.

Set includes:

24 task cards

- addition/subtraction word problems

- round and then add/subtract

- addition/subtraction standard algorithm problems

Of course, you know how to use task cards, but I'll share how I used them with my competitive group. I gave each student a piece of blank paper already folded into 10 squares. Each student started with a card. When they were finished they brought it to the table and go another card. They solved their problems (had to show all of their work). After about 10-15 minutes, I had everyone stop working. Each table group was a team. I worked through each problem/let some students share their work. If students had the correct answer, they stood. Each team received points based on how many correct answers they had. I walked around and checked or helped students find their mistakes. I also required students to have their answers labeled if it applied to the problem. No label= no point

My students absolutely loved this! They were pumped!
