Are you looking for a way to start an Advanced Placement Language class where you teach the skills for each of the three types of essays--argumentation, rhetorical analysis and synthesis--and teach writing skills? Here is an 8-week plan to help you do that.

This plan includes 8 weeks of plans for an essay that incorporates the skills of all three. The lesson includes a schedule, resource links for each week, sample student essays, and handouts for students. In addition, there are handouts and teacher keys for two nonfiction texts that have information on advertisements and have handouts with critical thinking questions.

I have also included an online link to the THANK YOU FOR ARGUING text and assignment handouts to accompany the reading. I have included two Socrative quizzes--one for the introduction and one for the Offense section of the book.
