Reading fables helps students build a common cultural background knowledge. Fables are often represented or mentioned in other stories, books and movies. In addition, their simple themes and complex vocabulary make fables a great way to work on reading comprehension and reading response.
This bundle includes 6 separate packets. Each packet can be printed, copied and stapled together, or used piece by piece. Each packet includes: a cloze word activity, a visualizing activity, vocabulary activities, descriptive words activities, comprehension strategies activities, and writing activities.
Use these packets whole group, or let students work through each one at their own pace during their literacy centers.
