How to use my lessons:

This package includes everything you need. It is designed to accompany Pearson's Math Makes Sense text. The teacher projects the handout and completes the notes while teaching the lesson. Students follow along and complete their own handouts. Assignment questions are in the text, or you can create your own.

I use a Smart Board, but projecting on a white board works just fine. Bell rings? No problem, simply pick up where you left off last time.

Learning Target for these lessons:

Students will learn to determine the square of a number, the square root of a perfect square, determine the approximate square root of a non-perfect square and develop and apply the Pythagorean theorem.

Essential Questions for these lessons:

What is a square number?

What is a Perfect Square Number?

What is a square Root?

What is the square of a number?

How do square polygons relate area to squares of numbers?

How do square polygons relate edge length to square roots?
