Description

This lesson is intended for students 3rd grade through 8th grade. It is based on the Mexican Albrije Animal Sculptures. In this project, students will be preplanning ( I suggest in a sketchbook). They will be printing using foam plates and ink. They will be drawing using pencils, tempera sticks, and oil pastels and finally collaging their work together in a finished product. Prompts are also provided for reflection in this slideshow.

Multiple student samples and still shots support this lesson as well as several student ready videos to show your class.

Please watch the supporting video to get a better understanding of this lesson and what it includes.

I did this with a grade 5-6 class, inspired by the movie Coco. It was hard work, a long project, but everyone finished and the kids enjoyed it.
