Description
This five problem assessment helps you to assess students' ability to graph rational functions.
I've included this instruction for students (at the top of the form):
"Directions: Factor and simplify each function. Then, state the VA, HA, x- and y-intercepts, holes, and Domain. Graph all VA and HA as dashed lines. Plot the points you found (x intercept, y intercept, and holes as open circles). Plot enough extra points to sketch the rest of the graph. Then, select the matching graph, below."
This is completely editable or you can delete it altogether.
The multiple choice options all vary enough that students will be able to select the correct one by looking for holes, HA, VA, and intercepts.
This Google Form would be especially useful as a homework assignment. It could also be used as a formative assessment, a warm up, a ticket out the door (exit ticket), or a homework check.
About the problems...
- set up to be auto-graded--but not released to them immediately (You can change this option if you want students to see their grade immediately by just clicking a checkbox in settings ⚙ > quizzes > release grade immediately ✅.)
- set up for students to upload their work (You can toggle this to optional or hit the trash can to delete it altogether.)
- set up to shuffle so that students don't see the questions in the same order
- also set up to shuffle the answer choices
- multiple choice (5 answer choices)
I've already customized its settings based on the most commonly used ones by my collaborative teachers and myself.
Since this is a Google Form, though, the great thing is that it can be customized to fit your classroom needs!
Some of the options available to you to customize the assignment include:
- Changing the format from multiple choice/matching to constructed responses
- Adding or deleting problems and answers
- Requiring students to sign in or not
- Changing the assigned point values
- And many more options built into Google Forms' functionality
