Description

These five problem assessments help you to quickly assess students' ability to simplify basic expressions using exponent rules. The primary purpose of the assessment is to ensure that students know what to do when multiplying or dividing.

Updated to include 2 versions! Your purchase will provide you with a Google Folder containing 2 versions of this assessment, so you'll have 10 problems in all. They have been designed to be very comparable in rigor.

No factoring is required for these problems.

Watch a quick video that shows THIS assessment in my blog post.

This Google Form is great for use as a ticket out the door (exit ticket), a formative assessment, a homework check, a shorter homework assignment, or a warm up.

About the problems...

  • set up to be auto-graded--but not released to them immediately (You can change this option if you want students to see their grade immediately by just clicking a checkbox in settings ⚙ > quizzes > release grade immediately ✅.)
  • set up for students to upload their work (You can toggle this to optional or hit the trash can to delete it altogether.)
  • set up to shuffle so that students don't see the questions in the same order
  • also set up to shuffle the answer choices
  • multiple choice

I've already customized its settings based on the most commonly used ones by my collaborative teachers and myself.

Since this is a Google Form, though, the great thing is that it can be customized to fit your classroom needs!

Some of the options available to you to customize the assignment include:

  • Changing the format from multiple choice/matching to constructed responses
  • Adding or deleting problems and answers
  • Requiring students to sign in or not
  • Changing the assigned point values
  • And many more options built into Google Forms' functionality

I am absolutely thrilled with this resource! It has been a game-changer for my classroom. The materials are well-organized, engaging, and incredibly easy to implement. The quality is top-notch, and I appreciate how thoughtfully everything is laid out — it saved me so much time! The activities are not only fun but also aligned with key learning objectives, which is a huge plus. My students have been excited to use the materials, and I've noticed an improvement in their understanding and enthusiasm for the subject. I also love how adaptable the resource is — it’s easy to tailor to different grade levels and learning styles. Thank you for providing such an incredible tool for teachers! I will definitely be back for more!
