Algebra 1 - Linear Function Activity Bundle
Share

Description

This bundle includes 6 activities for linear functions!

These activities vary in writing equations, finding slope and finding x and y intercepts.

Please read each activity description and look at the previews to ensure the content is what you are needing. Each activity is a PDF file and is NOT editable.

The activities include:

~ Finding Slope Coloring Activity ~

This is an activity to find slope for linear functions. Students are asked to find slope from an equation, table, graph, and two ordered pairs. Student's slope corresponds to a color which they will color on the template provided.

There are TWO coloring sheets which can be used for differentiation in the same class period OR one could be used for class practice and the other can be used as an assignment.

There is a *BONUS* coloring sheet of the four types of slope as a quick reference students can refer to throughout class

~ Linear Functions: Match Three ~

*MATCH THREE* activity for linear functions revolves around intercepts. Students match the equation, graph and intercepts together for 12 problems.

Students are asked to identify x and y intercepts when given the linear graph and equations in standard and slope - intercept forms.

Students will cut the 12 equations out, solve for the x and y intercepts. Students will cut and match the intercept cards with the equation card. Then, students will cut the graph cards and match with the paired up equation and intercept set.

~ Matching Worksheet: Linear Functions ~

Matching Worksheet - is a scaffolded activity which lets students practice writing linear equations when given characteristics such as:

- slope and y-intercept

- slope and a point

- two points

There are 18 total problems.

~ Maze Worksheet: Linear Functions ~

This is a twist on a regular worksheet. A Maze Worksheet, allows students to work at their own pace and check their answers immediately as they work. Students start with the problem 1, then find the answer somewhere on the worksheet, which leads them to their next problem. This pattern repeats until the student's answer takes them back to problem 1.

This worksheet includes 20 problems on finding x and y intercepts of linear functions from a graph, an equation, and a table.

~ Task Cards: Linear Functions ~

Linear vs. Exponential Task Cards includes 24 multiple choice problems where students are asked to identify if the graph, table, or equation represents a linear, exponential or neither relationship.

The teacher is given the choice in two different answer sheets for students to use.

~ Writing Linear Functions: Error Analysis ~

I love using this Algebra 1 Worksheet in my classroom, to help solidify student knowledge on writing linear equations. Student's who can identify errors and correct the mistake prove they understand the concept.

This worksheet offers 12 problems including problems about finding slope, writing equations when given slope and one point, and writing equations when given two points.

Students need to identify the mistake and then correctly resolve the problem.
