Algebra 1 25-question MIDTERM Assessment

The midterm exam was designed to be completed within a 75-minute time frame. I used this exam for my CP Algebra 1 course, as well as a differentiated version in my Accelerated Algebra 1 / Geometry A course. Students have been learning about basic and metric unit conversions, polynomial operations, simplifying radicals, constructing linear equations, systems of equations, systems of inequalities, exponential equations, as well as vertical, horizontal, and reverse transformations of basic exponential functions.

The Midterm comes in three versions, which are formatted using multiple question types including opened ended, selected response, multiple-choice, etc. Questions prompt students to utilize provided information to perform specific tasks, such as constructing a function, determining specific formulas to find parts of an equation, and discussing topics, such as slope/y-intercept of a linear equation and average rate of change/initial value of an exponential equation. Some questions are progressive and include changing one aspect of a situation and describing the impact on the equation, graph, situation, etc.
