Description
The review game is a Jeopardy style game for solving one-variable equations. There is a PowerPoint file that contains all the questions and answers. The categories are properties, 2-step equations, multi-step, literal equations, and word problems.
When running the slideshow, if you click on the one selected, it will take you directly to the question. If you advance to the next slide, it gives you the answer. If you click an arrow on the answer slide, it will take you back to the selection screen. After you have chosen one, it will be a different color so that you know which ones have been done already.
Divide them into teams before starting. My rule is that the work must be shown on their paper before they can raise their hand. I pick the first question to get the game going. The group who gets it right first gets the points and to pick the category and amount.
When I do this game, students must work out all problems on a sheet of paper. I give them an effort grade for their work. That way everyone gets a good review.
