These guided notes are a great introduction to algebraic expressions. I love using guided notes with my pre-algebra students because it helps give them the structure and organization needed to make the notes useful. When students get stuck, I redirect them back to their notes. As the year goes on, I am finding that my students are becoming more independent in that they need less prompting to utilize their notes when they come across a challenge.
