Description
This package includes three lesson plans focusing on writing and evaluating algebraic expressions. Each lesson plan uses animation as the springboard into an activity. While I include the Mathematics Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE), all lessons are written to be used with matching state and national standards that include real-world applications.
The first lesson is for introducing writing expressions. It is a short overview to model using interactive multimedia as a whole-class, teacher-centered activity. The second lesson focuses on writing and evaluating expressions in a small, collaborative group setting. It includes an Excel spreadsheet to help you quickly calculate expressions generated by the students. The third lesson is a digital learning activity using the animation for a collaborative, small group digital activity.
