Preschool Space Math Activities: Alien Counters

Do you have a set of alien counters? Young children love to engage with their environment and often enjoy exploring and learning with manipulatives. Many early math concepts are addressed in this activity-pack. These activities can be used at morning tubs, small group, math centers, independent work time or 1:1 with a teacher during a space theme or for any time of the year for hands-on learning!

The set of alien counters I have include: 

Colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. 

Aliens: 6 different Aliens with 1, 2 or 3 eyes

There are so many math concepts that can be worked on with this activity math pack using these plastic alien counter manipulatives:

• Sorting by color
• Sorting by alien
• Sort by quantity of eyes (1,2,3)
• Patterning (rainbow, AB, ABB, AAB, AABB, ABC)
• More/less
• Graphing (race to 6 or 8, 2 dice options included)
• Counting to 20
• Matching quantities 0-12
• Writing Numbers 0-10
• Tracing Numbers 0-10
