An all about me back to school math craft where students use math to describe themselves! A great getting to know you activity, the included math autobiography page gives students the personal information they need to describe themselves using addition, subtraction, measurement, place value, and time. Use it the first weeks of school as a getting to know you activity, as a class math project , or as an open house display. It’s perfect for family math night too!

Create your own! This resource includes two editable PowerPoint templates for you to write your own letter to parents and caregivers and create your own math autobiography page. Write your own questions and categories to fit your students.

This resource also includes a version using Australian and UK terminology (maths, mum, postcode).

The download includes 3 files:

File 1 PDF:

  • Math Autobiography page
  • Parent letter for younger students to complete the Math Autobiography at home
  • Lesson plan with discussion tips to introduce the project
  • Teacher’s Notes with tasks to choose from to make differentiation a breeze
  • Projectable lesson visual with examples for modeling
  • Templates and directions to make a boy or girl craft with a variety of hair styles for students to make their craft look like them!
  • All templates, parent letter, charts, and craft templates using Australian and UK terminology
