Description

This is a 16 slide PowerPoint presentation (including title slide). Each slide contains sentences that are simple to read, containing sight words. The presentation is shown to students, and they are to individually choose the letter of the sound they hear repeated.
Because I use this with special education students, I give them dry erase boards and have them each write down the letter. Then as a class, we hold them up to see who got the correct answer. This can also be done by having students number a paper 1-15 if you want to collect it for data.
This is modified from the kindergarten Maryland State Curriculum reading standard. 1.A.2 Discriminate and produce rhyming words and alliteration.
This can be used for lower elementary students or any grade for special education students working on an alternate curriculum. It is also handy for speech therapy due to the sound identification.
