The Among the Hidden Comprehension Questions for Using Text Evidence is aligned to Common Core standards for grades 6-8 as it requires students to use and cite text evidence in their answer.

This document contains 30 total critical thinking comprehension questions broken down by chapter sections below. There are five questions for each set of chapters:
Chapters 1-5
Chapters 6-10
Chapters 11-15
Chapters 16-20
Chapters 21-25
Chapters 26-30
These questions require students to answer in short paragraphs and use text evidence in their answer. Also included is a complete answer key so all of your work is done! The answer key can also be provided to students as an example of the skill of using text evidence to answer a comprehension question. Additionally, I've included the page number for each answer citing where the text evidence is located for your own reference or to provide to your students who need extra scaffolding.

I have included 2 formats of questions. The first format provides lines under each question to use if you prefer that your students write on your handouts(6 pages, 1 set per page). The second format provides the questions only (2 pages, 3 sets per page) for those of you who are limited on copies like me and prefer to have students write their answers out on loose leaf paper.
