Description
Purpose:
I created this introduction lesson plan to help my 9th-graders discover the usefulness of the "funnel method". You will walk students through an increasingly individualized order of practice where they will write their introduction draft.
Required Materials:
- Whiteboard and markers
- Projector and computer
- Handouts with example paragraphs (included digitally)
- Graphic organizers (included digitally)
- Peer review checklist (included digitally)
- Writing materials (paper, pencils, etc.)
- Highlighters (optional)
Duration: 80-90 minutes
Assessment Opportunities:
- Formative Assessment: Monitor student participation during guided practice, check graphic organizers, and observe peer review sessions.
- Summative Assessment: Evaluate the final introduction paragraphs for clarity, structure, and adherence to the funnel method.
