Description

After I've pointed out the strengths of each type of quadratic function (factored form, standard form, & vertex form), I use this activity to get my students to put it all together in one place. If you haven't been through factoring trinomials, you can skip the standard form section until later - which I do. Otherwise, this exercise has students generate a table with direction of opening, solutions, y-intercept, domain, range, vertex, axis of symmetry, and interval of increase/decrease. The full answer key is shown on the 2nd sheet.

It is always nice to have all of the key characteristics in one organized place and it also allows students to compare equations easily.

My students work best when first starting off their practice with a graphic organizer like this to gather their thoughts. The repetition was great and there were no issues.! Love the product!
