1 page Setting Handout that highlights what the reader should be focusing on when trying to identify the various settings of a text. The document can be projected during mini-lessons and note-taking sessions or printed to be used as a handout or poster. In addition, you will receive a Read-A-Loud for a mini-lesson and 1 graphic organizer that helps students record evidence of the author’s use of setting , analyze the evidence , and discuss how the author’s use of setting deepens the reader’s understanding of the text. This graphic organizer can be used for the Read-A-Loud, but also can be used with future texts when analyzing the author’s use of the literary device (setting). A model response/answer key
