Description

This product contains a guided notes packet for students who are learning how to analyze an argument. The PowerPoint is sold separately. This would be an excellent introduction into argumentative writing. After students take notes on what to look for when analyzing an argument, the teacher should have students use this skill set to look at a speech, newspaper, or magazine article. The lesson goes through important elements such as SOAPStone, appeals, and important devices (diction, tone, rhetorical questions, repetition.) Teachers can use this lesson before they have students write argumentative essays.
