Description

This anaphora worksheet is perfect as a minilesson, practice, or formative assessment for high school students learning to identify and analyze rhetorical devices.

This 2-page worksheet defines and gives examples of anaphora with example analysis. Then, students practice identifying anaphora in two short practice passages and practice analyzing the impact of the anaphora on the audience. The activity on the second page asks students to use anaphora in a brief real-world writing prompt.

An Answer Key with model responses is included.

Both a Google Doc digital version and PDF printable version (with lines for writing) are included for flexible classroom use.

This activity also supplements the MyPerspectives Grade 10 Unit 3 curriculum or any ELA curriculum studying famous speeches.

I used this resource with my AP Lang class. It was good but brief. I am interested in longer passages and more examples. Thanks!
