Description

This set of task cards provides students with practice finding the value of x or a missing angle measure, given the following angle relationships:

  • Vertical Angles
  • Complementary Angles
  • Supplementary Angles

All questions include a diagram. Questions are scaffolded and vary from basic application of the angle relationship to more challenging questions that require a one- or two-step equation to solve.

I used these task cards as a way for students to gain fluency in their angle pair recognition. Students had a limited amount of time to determine what type of pair was being presented. Once it was agreed upon, then we discussed how to solve for the variab.
