Description

This is an 18 question basic review of the following angle concepts:

-identifying types of angles formed by a transversal (alternate interior, alternate exterior, vertical, corresponding, etc.)

-calculating angle measures formed by a transversal

-calculating missing angle measure in complementary/supplementary angles

-calculating angle measures within triangles

-using the exterior angle theorem to determine missing angle measures

This review is good for students to complete prior to an exam to identify their strengths and areas in which they might need to further practice or study.

Use informal arguments to establish facts about the angle sum and exterior angle of triangles, about the angles created when parallel lines are cut by a transversal, and the angle-angle criterion for similarity of triangles. For example, arrange three copies of the same triangle so that the sum of the three angles appears to form a line, and give an argument in terms of transversals why this is so.
