Description

This product is designed to allow students to creatively display their understanding of species adaptations.

Prompt: It is the year 3000 and technology allows us to create new planets with specific habitats. These planets will host life that will not be disrupted by humans. Furthermore, new organisms can be created to live on these planets. These new creatures must have specific adaptations in order to thrive, or they will become extinct quite rapidly. YOU are the scientist that has created this new world.

Students must pick an ecosystem, research animals that currently exist in that ecosystem, and then create a new organism with appropriate adaptions to their ecosystem.

This resource will come to you in the form of a google doc so you will be able to edit it to your needs. You will also be able to easily integrate it into your learning management system.

You will be provided with the prompt, the project expectations, a rubric, and a graphic organizer for your students to use.

I like to make my students complete the project "hands on". They can turn in a drawing or a diorama. They may NOT turn in an electronic presentation according to my instructions. (You of course can change this if need be!)
