Description
These four activity sheets are focused on problem solving in math. They are centered on the following animal themes: cats, dogs, monkeys, and horses. It helps children learn to show their work so that you can see the process of their thinking.
These activities would serve as great whole group, small group or as centers/workstations. They could be laminated or put in a sheet protector to be used with dry erase markers. Within a station in Math Workshop, you could differentiate by using different numbers or having the students create their own problems!
These are great for students to be exposed to the problem solving peice of the Common Core Standards.

These word problems were exactly what I was looking for. My students needed to practice this concept for our EDM unit test. I spaced it out to do one page each day (4)and then they took the test on Friday. It truly helped the children to visualize, draw & explain simple word problems.
